Vegan Gulab Jamun


Enriched Flour: 2 tbsp

Almond Meal: 2 tsp

Baking Soda: 1/4 tsp

Refined Oil (warm): 1 tsp

Sugar: 1 cup

Water – 1 and 1/4 cup

Saffron – 6 or 7 strands

Cardamom cloves: 2


Preparation Method:

In a pan,  roast the enriched flour at reduced heat. Transfer it to a bowl. Add refined oil, almond meal and baking soda into the bowl. Mix with water. Roll them up into balls. Fry in oil.

Add  sugar, Saffron strands and cardamom seeds to water. Bring the water to a boil. Turn off the heat and wait until the water’s temperature reduces to luke warm. Transfer the fried Jamun balls into the sugar water and let it soak for about 2 hours. Refrigerate it for about 3 hours before it is served or it could also be served at room temperature.
