Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
Cooking oil: 1 tbsp
Cumin – 1/4 tsp
Urad dhal – 1tsp
Chana dhal – 1 tsp
Onion (medium sized) – Chopped
Green chillies- 2
Curry Leaves – 5
Ginger – 1/4 tsp(grated)
Green Beans – 5 to 6 (cut into long pieces)
Tomatoes – diced (1 medium sized)
Capsicum – 1/2 (diced)
Cabbage – chopped (1 cup)
Carrot – chopped (1/4 cup)
Jowar – 2 cups
water – 4.5 cups
Peanuts (Optional) – 1 tbsp
Salt – As per your taste

Method Of Preparation:


Soak the jowar for about 10 hours. Drain the water.

Add 4.5 cups of water to 2 cups of jowar and pressure cook it. Let it to cool for some time.

In a pan, take some oil and season with mustard, cumin, green chillies, curry leaves, peanuts, ginger, urad and chana dhal and add all the vegetables listed in the ingredients list above.

Add the cooked jowar. Add salt.

Mix all the ingredients and let it heat for about 3 to 4 mins.
Nutritious and tasty Jowar upma is now ready to be served!
